Yes. I did just put who da man. I am so street. Who is this weird guy that I've decided to spend the rest of my life with. Who is the brave soul who has decided to take me on? Mark Neufeld did. We met early last year, at a wedding ( awwwweee... actually ew. gross). Our eyes met.. he thought I was cute, I thought he was cute but a jerk because he was checking me out even though he had a date ( who turned out to be his sister). We chatted. Found out he lived in the woods. Had built his own cabin. He found out I was an actress. Lived on my own in the city. By this time in my life I had dated enough flaky actors and musicians that a woodsman seemed like a fun new thing. The evening went on. But alas, the end of the night came and he did not ask for my phone number . So taking matters into my own hands I emailed the bride ( on her honeymoon) and asked her to pass along my email and phone number in case he would like to use it. ( he claims that because I told him where I lived he was just going to stop by... I however just gave him a general area - the corner of lilac and dorchester - which I'm actually 1/2 a block away from, therefore he would have been at the wrong apartment building trying to find me... that might have made for an even better story).
And so began the actress and the carpenter. Slowly. Casually. But always fun. I went to the woods. He went to the city. The more time we spent together, the more we realized we had lots and lots in common even though we came from pretty different places.
But he was planning at trip to California for the winter. We were still in no man’s land until he got offered a job in the city. He took it. He moved in. We found a new place together. The rest is history.
We have a nice life. I’m a lucky girl.
